Meet our coaches
Nisha Purewal
Having coached and competed in the Functional Fitness space for over 10 years, you could say it is well and truly something I am passionate about. My favourite part of the job is seeing people surprise themselves by doing something they never felt possible supported by a community that wants to see you succeed.
Fun fact: I have represented Scotland as an individual and as part of a team at the finals of the Functional Racing Federation.
Steph Sinclair
My name is Steph and I’ve been a fully qualified personal trainer for nine years now however in the past two years I’ve made a more permanent switch over to coaching functional fitness classes.
I love the community aspect of coaching these classes, when one person succeeds it’s like everyone in the class has too and it’s a wonderful environment to work in.
Fun fact: before I entered into the fitness industry I studied Spanish at university then worked on a farm for 2 years. People say everything happens for a reason but unless I move to Mexico and work on a cattle ranch I don’t really know what I was preparing myself for!
Lauren McEwan
From a very young age I’ve loved all things fitness, however at just the age of 13 I found my love for Functional Fitness. I’ve competed in it over the years which has given me the love for coaching too. The gym has the best community feel and every new member is made to feel welcome and part of the fam!
Fun fact: I’m currently studying physical education to become a teacher.
Mark Davies
I began my sport journey from the time I could walk as I grew up in a football focused family. From age 21 I found CrossFit and fell in love with it and enjoyed all aspects of it but mostly the competition and the people. I have trained in Fortius since its opening. During lockdown I started looking into and beginning to work through my PT courses and coaching in Fortius.
Fun fact: I played football professionally, represented Scotland international schoolboys and I was in FIFA14.
Alasdair Frondigoun
I have been involved in sports in some way for most of my life and decided to give up my corporate job and take a gamble to become a full time coach and personal trainer. I have a real passion to help people and seeing them achieve things they never thought possible, or, surpass the goals they set. The opportunities to help people achieve their health, fitness and sporting goals fuels me every day.
Fun fact: I have held a City of Glasgow Swimming club record as part of a relay team that has stood (at the time of writing this) for 23 years.
